1. The glass on my frame has broken, what do I do?

Share this article:

If the glass on your frame has shattered, carefully remove any loose shards of glass and then turn the frame face down onto a sheet, towel or sturdy backing. This ensures that the remaining glass tilts and falls away from the artwork. If a frame is left standing upright or face-up, the glass will tilt towards the artwork/image and can cause scratching and cutting. Once all loose shards have been removed, place it face down on your chosen backing and secure for transportation.

If the glass has cracked but is still intact, carefully tape an X shape along the face of the glass – any adhesive tape should work. This will help keep the pieces together should it crack and shatter further with transportation. Turn the frame upside down within a sheet, towel or on some form of cardboard backing and secure.

Please bring the frame in to store so that we can assess and quote on your re-glazing options.
